Jean-Marie Pradier is Professor Emeritus of the University of Paris 8 where he co-directed the Theatre Department after many years abroad. Member of the EA 1573 Scènes du monde, création et savoirs critiques, he is a researcher at the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Paris Nord. A founding member of the International School of Theatre Anthropology (ISTA) created in 1979 by Eugenio Barba, he contributed in 1995 to the emergence of ethnoscenology as a scientific discipline. He continues his research on the biological and cultural foundations of human spectacular and performative practices. Author of several books and 180 published articles, some of which can be consulted following the project “Fonds ethnoscénologie: archivage et numérisation” Sken@s, of the MSH Paris nord.
