Events

The network of EspaceTemps.net meets up periodically, thanks to events that energise the exchanges, the projects and the encounters between disciplines.

The annual meeting of the journal’s network.

The seminar is an opportunity for reflection and networking opportunities for EspaceTemps.net. The Editorial Board and the participants in the journal meet up during two days to discuss together the journal’s editorial project, its orientation and its positioning within the field of the social sciences. This meeting is also an occasion to debate current affairs and, since 2007, to invite specialists from outside the journal, in order to stimulate the interfaces with other disciplines and sources of knowledge.

Other important events.

December 21st, 2007 – on the waves of France Culture.

France Culture’s weekly show “A plus d’un titre” invited the Editorial Board to present the journal’s editorial project and its ongoing developments. Saskia Cousin and Luca Pattaroni were the guests of journalist Jacques Munier. The show can be found on UniversPodcast.com.

December 14th, 2007 – Internationalisation launch, with the Swiss Commission for UNESCO.

On the occasion of the launch of the process of linguistic and cultural internationalisation of the content of the journal, EspaceTemps.net and the Swiss Comission for UNESCO jointly organised an evening of debates, punctuated by short films that unite researchers and innovative editorial projects on the theme of: Publishing for the World. The Universality of the Sciences in the Face of Multilingualism.

An artistic viewpoint fed the discussions of the two round tables:

 “Airs de Paris”: 5 years of publishing celebrated at the Pompidou Centre.

In May 2007, EspaceTemps.net was invited to celebrate its 5th anniversary at the Pompidou Centre (Paris), in connection with the “Airs de Paris” exhibition.

The new frontiers of the urban, its inclinations and its political stakes were analysed, dissected and debated during two round tables, animated by Jacques Lévy, with renowned guest speakers:

  • L’urbain : un monde sans frontières dont les limites sont au centre, with François Ascher (Institut français d’urbanisme, Marne-la-Vallée), Anne-Laure Amilhat-Szary (Université Joseph-Fourier, Grenoble), Jean Rolin (writer) et Pierre Veltz (ENPC, Paris).
  • L’urbanité : une utopie raisonnable ? with Marc Breviglieri (EHESS, Paris), Françoise Choay (philosopher), Michel Lussault (Université François-Rabelais, Tours)

The projection of film sequences and the reading of Italo Calvino brought an artistic dimension to the evening.
